One has 3 legs. They sit in their fenced yard & watch my house until I come to get them. No leashes. They're out of sight most of the time. They run ahead of me, but come up behind me later. Great post. My wife and I have made a habit of contributing to animal shelters, too. We recently adopted a 5 year old yellow lab/husky with a traumatic past from a local shelter. The richness she has added to our home and her obvious appreciation for the home we've given her prove to us that our contributions are well worth it.
