Daylight Savings Time

If you live in the U.S. how did you spent the extra hour we were given back last Sunday? If you don’t live in the U.S. how would you spend the gift of an extra hour? I cheerfully admit, I spent mine sleeping and lying in bed listening a recorded book. The gift was too precious to waste being productive. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I did go to the gym in the afternoon. When I checked the wall clock to see if they had changed it I remembered a boss I had over twenty years ago. Every Spring and Fall he would go to everyone’s office and change the clocks for them. It was a simple but friendly thing to do. It just goes to show we’ll never know or guess what people will remember about us years later.

Do you have any little memories like that?

We changed our clocks a week earlier in the UK. What did I do with the hour? I never noticed it, all I did notice was how it got dark earlier, so the day actually seemed shorter. When the day becomes monochrome I like to close the curtains and look inward.

      Grannymar,
Yes, I love winter for the introspection. A lot of people around here ski… I’m glad I don’t. It would cut into my “moodling” time.

      Cathy,
I’m glad you can go back to bed and sleep. Most people in the developed world are sleep deprived.

I sleep with a small towel over my eyes. It’s more comfortable than a sleep mask and works just fine.

this year the clocks went forward for Summer much earlier than in previous years. To start with I was all confused about when the daylite came and went…but within a week it all seemed ‘pretty normal for me’ ๐Ÿ™‚

to make matters a tad different anyways I moved bedrooms some months ago and there are more windows so more lite filters in anyway…along with more bird noises etc ๐Ÿ™‚

but then again, I am sleeping better…the new bed did that!!
Before when I woke up – I get up to the bathroom and stay up BUT now the bed invites me back…probably better for my stressees I guess

I goof off a lot in the day & enjoy it immensely. But that leaves exercise, weights, shoulder stretches (shoulder replacement 1st of Oct.), some jobs—late in the day & evening.
When I go to bed I listen to books on CD which puts me to sleep. (I have to find my place on the disc the next day.)

      bikehikebabe,
I think it’s nice to have a balance. As Mark Twain said, “It’s no fun not having anything to do. What’s fun is having something to do and not doing it.” ๐Ÿ˜‰

We do not change the times at all. The memories of little kindnesses? Too many and too maudlin for me to write about now. Suffice it to say that they were all by Urmeela after her illness.
