I think it is always important never to become jaded nor lose our sense of curiousity. We should always have a sense of wonder or delight. You have more faith in the powers that be than I do: "I take it as it comes and leave the major decisions and discussions to more qualified people." In many cases I don't believe they're that competent, but many of them are a lot more motivated by money and power than I am. So I occasionally write to my Congressmen but mostly don't waste time on issues I have no control over. We agree about that. :) I do a lot of lazing around too.
