In the Fullness of Time

The above picture is of Andy, Greg (our solar engineer) and Joe (our contractor) using a Solar Pathfinder to see what trees still needed to be cut down to keep them from shading our photovoltaic panels. The picture was taken Wednesday and hopefully Joe will start building the supports for the array next week.

The last four trash containers were still there, but they were finally removed that afternoon, so progress continues to be made. There is clearly a long way left to go. In the fullness of time….

Thanks to bikehikebabe, Evan, Mike and Cathy for commenting on last week’s post.

It’s been interesting to see the number of home solar arrays out here in the west. We don’t see many in our part of the country.

Not a lot we outsiders can say except –Go girl.

    Mike,
Yes, we may not get much precipitation, but we do get sunshine.

    bikehikebabe,
It’s an unusual story but one worth sharing, I think. Thanks for the encouragement.

certainly can see progress – almost clear ground except where the dumpsters are.

and it’s a worthwhile journey to blog about as we will get to hear almost every step of the way what is what and how you have understood and planned your future home in the forest…

I suppose one of the good things is that it’s not your primary residence and therefore taking it slower and researching things you will end up with a great abode, that you will keen to go and reside in from time to time….

    Cathy,
The dumpsters are gone now, and the clearing looks a lot better. We went up today to decide where the house will go.

I put 10 pictures of views from the clearing up on Flickr last night. Andy took them Saturday after our first bit of snow. The first picture is http://www.flickr.com/photos/8185675@N07/6229159841/.

the snow ‘art’ looks very interesting. I wonder how long it has been since snow actually reached the ground – in the forest canopy…

  7. Cathy in NZ says:

Jean, no I didn’t mean like that…I meant amongst the now skeleton burnt out trees…

  8. Jean says:

    Cathy,
The pictures show the first snow of the season since the fire.

  9. Rummuser says:

Great! It will all happen in its own time. I am happy for you.
