Busy Visit

We had a good visit with Kaitlin, Torben and the puppies—from Sunday evening to last night. I had plenty of toys for Sammy and Montana to play with down here, and they also spent a lot of time up on the land. Because of that the toys did last the whole visit.

We adults were busy too but we didn’t make such interesting messes.

How was the holiday for you?

Thanks to Evan, Dixie, bikehikebabe, Beate, Cathy and Rummuser for commenting on last week’s post.

Christmas day was grand with quite a bit of over eating, the holidays are continuing and I saw a Hindi movie on the boxing day. As I write this, I am expected to attend a farewell party in half an hour, and I am also getting a visitor tomorrow. On the 30th, I am likely to drive 350 Kms to a small town to bring in the new year with some close friends and return either on the 1st or the 2nd. Life is good. And, no, no messes anywhere so far.

The puppies mess: Hahahahah, Ho Ho, Hehe, LOL!!!

I think puppies and soft toys are inevitable “messes” – I on the other hand have “made a mess or two” and then reapplied the items back into new arrangement…

One of my presents was a requested load of lidded boxes that you can see through so he got me 10 assorted sized boxes. About the largest 1/2 a shoebox with the smallest about the size of 2 matchboxes!

Of course, some or the rearranged mess would never fit into those sized boxes but they are more artfully arranged in a state of “must work through what to do with them…” mode.

It is always interesting looking at archival but useful art related items these mostly from the textile side of things including beads, buttons and many different do-dads. And it helped doing this because the weather was totally inclement!

Right after Xmas, I decided to have a “time-out personal holiday” and I’m thoroughly enjoying that. i.e. didn’t want to do anything with anyone or for any reason. I have quite a busy voluntary life that has most w/ends full of something and right now that is in recess, including great-nephews school sports…so this is a great thing for me to do 🙂

Today plan to make some art-marks as the rolling table is free of the above, who are back on shelves etc

    Rummuser,
It sounds as if you’re making good use of your new freedom!

    bikehikebabe,
    I agree!

    Cathy,
Creativity is seldom tidy. 🙂 I’m glad you’re taking some time for yourself. It reminds me of Julia Cameron’s artist’s dates.

    Kaitlin,
They’re adorable and they warm their grandma’s heart. It was the least I could do after they made that long car trip.
