Busy Day

The security scans are progressing, and I’m saving old posts and deleting them here on Cheerful Monk to aid the process. Andy, Orlando and Ron were busy yesterday too. We decided not to wait for the next heavy rain to install a new four-foot culvert next to the three-foot one. We’re guessing sooner or later the road would wash out again if we didn’t do something. Why wait until that happened before trying something different?

They’ll work some more tomorrow on the rest of the road to the cottage. All in all it was a productive day here. How was yours?

If anyone is interested, there are a lot more pictures on Flickr.

    boys and their toys 🙂

because my energy isn’t too great right now, a kind of relapse from an illness that flares from time to time., everything takes forever to achieve. Especially if it requires me to do things that are enjoyable but really a bit back breaking.

i have been working on my little vegetable garden patch for what seems like weeks, deconstructing from 3 down to 1.1/2 little beds. I now have the bigger bed in progress for early summer planting. I don’t know what exactly I will plant this year but I might try the little toms (my neighbour grew some that I had quite a feed of, last liked sun on my side of the high fence…and for some reason they weren’t even eating their side) so occasionally when they were out, I reached through some gaps.

the other 1/2 garden is still WIP but I will get there, as it’s not as important…

Don’t forget Spring has Sprung here and the Clocks have gone Foward 🙂

Good luck on getting your energy back. I’ve had periods like that but luckily didn’t have much that I had to do. They can be scary/frustrating if there are external demands.

Gardening does require a lot of work! Your story about the tomatoes makes me smile. Thanks.

We did our hikes, I washed the balcony chairs & stored them. Tom brought in the cacti, below freezing during the night. In the evening we watched our marathon Breaking Bad—so good– while I sat with my legs folded under me, did some hand -gripper crunches. (The nurse yelled when she asked me to squeeze her hand.) Bounced on the little trampoline when I’d sat enough. Gotta keep moving.

Yes, we have to keep moving. My bout with frozen shoulder taught me that. Active rest at the very least.

It sounds as if your day was very productive, with a lot of enjoyment too. Good for you! As you know, I value the enjoyment more than the productivity. 🙂
