Tech Support

Why do they call it Tech Support? Why don’t they just call it We Don’t Know Either?

Do you agree with that sentiment? I’ll spare you my latest stories — you can probably guess what they were like.

I’m guessing they don’t get the problem. They don’t know you AND they don’t know your language -well enough.

i had just taken a big old swig of water. while simultaneously the title of your post came up . . .
i came THIS CLOSE to becoming one of those stupid cartoon characters that spews water everywhere!!!! LOLOL.
that’s EXACTLY what they should be called. among other things that can’t be printed here.
right now wordpress is not allowing me to access my pictures. it says my picture file is empty. NOT. i’ve messed around a little but am afraid to do very much and yet i hate to bother the captain too. aaaggghhh!!!
i’ve noticed that when wordpress does another ‘update’ other things stop working as well. i’m sick of it.
i guess it gives somebody a job to keep tinkering with it all. but i wish they’d let me elect to drop out of all their new bells and whistles. if it ain’t broke . . . .

One trouble is some of the changes increase the security of our sites. It’s a mess if we get hacked.

Is there anything I can do to help? What hosting service are you/Captain Fritter using?

I’m surprised my phone company doesn’t show their representatives a list of supported modems. If it’s not on the list it doesn’t mean the modem is bad, just that they don’t know the right settings. Fortunately that list is on the internet.

And Comcast now charges for anything more complicated than “Is it plugged in?” Luckily my son’s a developer. I just call him.

Yes it’s great when we have someone to ask! I go on the internet to look for answers. I often find them from some helpful soul.
