A Touch of Winter

Last night’s TV weather report from Albuquerque:

We just had twelve hours of winter. Now the weather will return to whatever it was before.

The forecast using the AccuWeather app on my iPad says about the same thing:

1-23-14-weather

This morning it snowed a bit down here, but there wasn’t enough to completely cover the ground. Andy says it snowed all day up on the land, but it was more of a mist and they wound up with a half an inch at most.

It did make the net around the pussy willow stand out. I had asked Andy for a picture of it last week (to illustrate how we have to protect any plant we care about from the animals), but it’s hard to see:

What a difference a bit of snow makes!

You had snow and we had rain!

we had the tail end of cyclone Joan – it was more windy but we did have a few good drops of rain…

now we are back to glorious summer – possibly not as humid as it could be – which is a definite plus in my books!

I agree with you about the humidity. We sometimes have to worry about drought, but we don’t have to suffer through hot and humid summer days.

    i’m a totally rainy person.
i should be living in oregon. i would love it.
the smell of rain on a pine forest . . . oh my gosh. heaven!
here the weekend is supposed to be nice.
we’ve been in the deep freeze too. below zero wind chills at night for days and days.
but this is our driest and coldest time usually anyway. xo

I’m not sure if I would like it that rainy — I love the winters here because of the sunshine. On the other hand, I loved the rainy season last summer in spite of the money it cost us.

I’m glad your weekend is supposed to be nice!
