More Plumbing

Yesterday Peter and Andy worked on connecting the hot water from the solar panels to inside the house.

Insulating the hole in the roof.

Weatherproofing the hole in the roof.

Protecting the hole from snow and rain.

More weatherproofing.

The plumbing on the east half of the panels now goes into the house. Finishing the insulation and testing for leaks still needs to be done.

With any luck they will do the same for the west half Monday. Progress is being made!

Paul is here & making me send out a broken kneecap report. This is a good place to start.
My muscles are weak & joints stiff & sore from the lack of movement I had for 6 or 7 wks. in the leg straight-brace. But I just started yesterday getting back to the exercise “machines” downstairs-which I get down to, holding on railing with both hands.

I feel good about the progress I can make now.

At physical therapy I hadn’t taken a Tylenol before, but he made me bend knee ’til he got a “really” good reading -105 degrees–15 degrees over 90. I only did it since he was there. I’d never have done it on my own. He had me do a bicycle–YIKES! since that’s 2nd nature to me. I went at it “all the way” & SCREAMED loudly when I got to an advanced angle. He said I can’t injure my kneecap with a joint scream. He said not to scream, I was frightening the other patrons. I told him my screams are automatic– also said that I scream when I think it’s going to hurt—that was a joke.

      OH MY GOODNESS!
memories of my broken hand and wrist and therapy.
bending it back as far as it would go.
i didn’t scream. LOL. but once i must have gone all pale.
he asked if i was about to pass out!
one just HOPES they’ve got to know what they’re doing!!!!
      good luck!

When I had physical therapy for my frozen shoulder the gal told me it was all right to scream — sometimes it helps. I didn’t. I did do my exercises between sessions to make the process go as fast as possible.

I didn’t either–scream– or make any sound when the therapist worked my bent knee –way up. He knew what he was doing.

When I was on the bicycle the pain was SO intense & SO totally unexpected. He thought I knew better than to petal like I was on the road.

It sounds as if you have a great therapist! Thank Paul for making you write the report. As you know, we’re all wishing you well.

    glad all is working out.

Yes, when Andy started talking about his project I quizzed him about the hole in the roof. Told him I wouldn’t be happy if it suddenly started leaking. He laughed and said not to worry.

landlord has another headache now, not the hot water relay – but the drain from the downstairs bathroom that is rarely used. the plumber sent his favourite drain unblockers who thought it would be a piece of cake – no deal.

apparently on Friday they were there most of the day, doing what I don’t know as the drain still appears to be in same status as the day before but there are fluoro markings in one place outside – which actually have nothing to do with this particular drain!

I called Mrs P who was none the wiser on the situation except to say plumber has it under control…
