Dogs Selling Cars

Around the end of last month we talked about the Advantix ad:

advantix

But it’s not just companies selling dog products that have cute commercials. Subaru has dogs driving, with the theme, “Dog tested. Dog approved.” These two are my favorites.

There are three others of the “Barkley clan”, along with bios of the actors, at the Subaru site.

Here’s an earlier Subaru commercial:

Volkswagen has the dogs riding rather than driving, but the idea is the same. Cars are for the whole family, not just the humans.

Subaru and Volkwagen obviously think that dogs will sell their cars. I have to admit, I’m a sucker for dogs, and I do pay attention to the ads. I’m afraid the Advantix ad is still my favorite, though. What do you think?

    i love these!
i fell in love also with the insurance commercial where the dog worries about his bone!
how can you see these and not love dogs!!!!
i watched one where the yellow labs were in the car and the puppy lab in the child seat.
they stop at the stop sign and a female french poodle walks across.
the lab driving has a goofy smile on his face. the female lab looks at him and snarls!
    priceless!

In the poodle video I thought Auggie’s facial expressions were just perfect, but Stevie didn’t look quite upset enough. On the other hand, he’s a veteran actor and she only started training six months ago. It’s still cute.

Thanks for telling me about the insurance commercial.

I loved the insurance commercial. 🙂 Apparently the dog’s name is Chopper and he has his own Facebook page. I haven’t checked it out yet.
