Preparing

This weekend Andy and Orlando were going to fix up the roads so Andy can plow this winter, but Orlando couldn’t get the backhoe in time. They now plan to do it next weekend.

They’re also going to install these two new culverts in the road drainage system to help keep the roads from washing out next year.

A critter has been bringing materials into the engine compartment of the truck — to build a nice nest for the winter.

I’m afraid, and Andy hopes, the rat zapper will get it instead. What would you be rooting for?

The winter. Oops, it is typo!

After our 24°F temperature Friday morning and snow the other day, I can understand the critter’s need to get ready for the winter. Still, all things considered, it’s picking the wrong place to do it.

I’m kind of rooting for the critter. How adorable! The things she finds to build her nest. She’s creative & practical. I want to bring her home & take care of her. ( She wouldn’t like that.) Or I’d bring her warm fabrics for building her nest.

OOps I think I’ve got it wrong. Is that white thing with the yellow lid what Andy has for a funnel?

A strange place to choose for nest-making. It clearly didn’t realise it would get roasted alive as soon as the truck was on the move. I wonder why a load of engine fixtures had such appeal?

Actually, it wouldn’t get roasted. It took Beate and Tim several days to zap their rat — and they were driving a couple of hours a day. Apparently the rat didn’t mind.

  5. I’m hoping for a peaceable solution that works for both sides — But I don’t know what that would be, it sounds good though, doesn’t it? 🙂

Hope you’re doing well, and have enjoyed your weekend!!

    I’m with the critter

I’m not worrying about winter, I just know that it’s on the cards that sometime in the near future it will be summer here 🙂
