Sigh!

rats in truck 17
rats in well house 9
mouse (in truck) 1
ground squirrel (in truck) 1

Notice the zapper got another rat in the truck, even though the Rid-a-Rat was blinking as it should. We’ll have to see if it does any good at all.

Presumably there will be a lot more coyotes next year so the number of rats and rabbits will drop?

The rats chew on wires & plastic tubes. The porcupines chewed the edges of the plywood covers we put over the downstairs windows at the cabin to keep the snow off. They like the glue. Wire mesh over the plywood kept that from happening.

Kendall’s dogs had a run-in with a porcupine. The vet had to sedate them to pull the quills out. The not-so-smart dog did it a second time with a dozen quills around his nose. You can’t leave the quills in. The broken-off part heals & the quill goes to the brain like an arrow, because there’s a barb at the end.

Lotech keeps winning over hightech! Can’t help but cheer the underdog!

The poor underdog is the rat. If the light doesn’t deter him he gets zapped by the other high-tech device. 🙁 But I suppose it’s better than being eaten by a predator.
