Change of Plans

I was going to write about something else last night, but Andy wanted help with the letter he was writing to our insurance company. So another couple of hours down the tubes. I should have known it was a dream to think I was out of the loop. As usual, it pays to have a sense of humor.

I hope your evening was more fun.

I’m not sure how we would do that. Anyway, I’ve decided that I’ll let Andy have most of the fun for a while, since he didn’t like my suggestion: repeat what we said before, we don’t have the information, contact their Customer Care. I am going to propose in his letter that he give them the contact information for the provider, too. Some progress has been made — up until now they thought we were the provider, that’s how messed up they were.

Yes, I had visitors and also caught up with some serious reading. That is fun for me.

How do you figure a sense of humor into that? Please tell me so I’ll know how to try it.

I suppose it’s all in the attitude, which you’ve been cultivating since childhood. Tom said he’d “feel a sense of accomplishment since you’ll get money back, instead of just making people happy.” exact quote.

Actually we don’t owe any money. If anyone got overpaid it was the provider, and we don’t understand how that happened. But years ago (2002) I went through something like this for months and months, taking pages of documentation. In that case they did owe us money, and we finally got the check. Then the other day when I was cleaning out old files, the check was still sitting there, uncashed. Sometimes all one can do is laugh.

It also helps that the amount of money here is tiny compared to what we spend on the land and roadwork. It’s all a matter of putting things in perspective.

I haven’t been writing any of those kind of letters, but I have been making a lot of hearts in recent days… mostly I have been swanning about, reading and generally have a perfect nothing period.

I did however put the washer on yesterday morning, assuming that the dull overcast morning would turn into sun. It didn’t. It turned to custard and hopefully later today (next day) it will dry again…a good rinse of pure rain water is good for the clothes methinks…
