Trees

It was windy and in the high 50’s the past few days. Not surprisingly, Andy had to clear another tree off the road:

And he says if you look at the fruit trees very carefully, you can see some of them are thinking of coming back to life.

This poor little volunteer apple tree won’t make it because it was too badly gnawed.:

We learned long ago that if we want trees to survive up there, we need to give them plenty of protection:

things look awfully dry there… just as they do here.
too bad there’s not a way of clearing a swath of those dead trees on each side of the road … so the others that fall won’t get across it.
but wow! talk about a project! one would have to start up a firewood company to make use of it all.
and how noisy it would be… chain saws disturbing the mountain peace.
well. tammy. scrap that silly idea! LOLOL 😀

Yes, it’s probably better to do most of them as they fall. Except for two trees Andy may have cut down because they’re big enough to trap him up there for a while. Might be better to be proactive for them!

Where the environment is hostile, all young need to be provided with protection till they can survive hostility by resilience. Even human babies!
