Extra Stimulation

Typhoon, the youngest member of The Thundering Herd, requires more mental stimulation than the older members. So he sometimes walks backwards when they’re all out together.

It reminds me of myself when I was in sixth grade and was so bored I taught myself to read books with them upside down. I’m glad I’m not back in those days — my toys are a lot more fun now.

Would you like to go back to your childhood, or do you like it better now?

No thank you. I am through and done with walking backwards while the others are walking forward.

    well.
    interesting question.
i’d go back if i could go back and forth! because i love NOW too.
i’d like to go back to canon city colorado when i was 7 and 8.
    oh those were WONDERFUL days!
i wanted to meet my guardian angel.
and i used to put rocks in the shade on my way home from school if i thought they were too hot. (I was TOO HOT! lololol). i remember feeling sorry for them.
i had a secret place in a hollowed out cottonwood tree.
and the crisp cold mountain air in the mornings walking to school in fall and winter…
seeing the wood and coal smoke coming from the house chimneys…
    there’s no smell like it.
not terribly “green” but then those were different days. XOXO

I’m so glad you had that experience!

I had a guardian angel for a while. I remember sitting on one side of the seat at my desk so there would be room for her. And I can relate to your trying to help the rocks. When my grandmother had the bathroom remodeled everyone else was admiring the new look. I was out in the yard talking to our old claw-footed bathtub, trying to make sure it didn’t feel alone and abandoned.
