We left the shades in the study closed yesterday, so this morning the sun didn’t heat it up to the 80’s. Instead the temperature stayed a comfortable 71°. Yay, shades! They do seem to work.

They’re a bit expensive, but they’re worth it. Regular drapes would have interfered with the views, and these are thermally efficient. One of the main reasons for getting them was to cut down on the heat loss from the windows in winter. It was a pleasant surprise to see how they already helped the temperature in the study.
They look very elegant apart from being efficient!
