Replacing a Pear Tree

One of Andy’s pear trees was killed by fire blight:

So he took it out.

And replaced it with a new one that is supposed to be fire-blight resistant.

As usual, there are all sorts of things that can kill plants up there. Wish it luck!

    Good luck little tree.
I have a lot of tree stories.
Including the Weeping Willow that I planted when I first moved in and it grew more than 2 stories tall and then started to die. A HUGE limb fell on my house so I had the whole thing cut down.
Then there’s the Apple tree that I trimmed
and the Plum tree that I had to wrap in chicken wire to save it from the deer…
and yet, I yearn to go plant some more.

All of our trees need various barriers to protect them from the animals. I admire Andy’s perseverance — and yours. 🙂
