Sammy’s Home Again

5-31-15-Sammy's-Back

Sammy’s back home, but in this picture he’s still woozy from the pain killers and the trauma. He has to take it easy for about a month while the surgical site heals, but he’s breathing more easily than he did before the crisis, and he’s already gone for a couple of short walks. He’s only allowed to go for ten minutes at a time, and on the second walk he would have liked to go longer. That’s a good sign.

Montana’s blog has a few more pictures, plus a link to this video Torben made of his homecoming.

Bless Kaitlin and Torben for getting him to Blue Pearl, the emergency veterinarian hospital, on time and Blue Pearl for reviving him and giving him such excellent care.

The same to you, Cathy. I’m actually more concerned about you. Sammy is older and his conditions are more life-threatening, but he has a lot of people looking after him. I’m hurting about your latest development, even though I know how resourceful and resilient you are.

What a tense and harrowing tale with what looks to be a happy ending. Hope it turns out that way.
