    i don’t know whether to laugh or cry!
    is it something like cutting your nose to spite your face?

    wait! ….. wait!…..
    i think i hear a helicoptor in the distance! …. YES! i hear it! it’s closer now!
    yes! it’s a helicoptor coming to his rescue with a long rope and a basket!
    and there’s an icy margarita waiting for him on board! and his girl friend who has NEVER given up hope in finding him!!! YAAAYYYYY!!!!

      No, he just had a brilliant idea that didn’t work. It happens all the time. I’m glad you rescued the poor fellow!

    lots of incidents of that scenario for sure…I might have been tempted to make sharp swords from my tree, somehow and speared all the fish, used all their skeletons to make some type of bridge… on the hand “maybe not” – wild thinking here today – hand in release mode!!!

      I’m happy your hand is getting better! Those fish in the cartoon are sharks, which is why the fellow can’t just swim over.

    I totally identify with this guy.
    Once I was high up on a ladder outside.
    I had it braced against a big limb that I was cutting off a tree.
    I just put the blade of the reciprocating saw to the limb when I suddenly stopped.
    I paused for a moment wondering what it was that made me stop and then I realized that I was cutting the actual limb that the ladder was braced on!
    Duh.
    Yep, climbed back down, readjusted the location of the ladder and went back up and cut off the limb.
