A Couple of Jobs Well Done

Andy cut up those three trees and threw them off the road on his way up today. He still managed to get up there by noon.

I spent a lot of time transferring Andy’s phone to my account and ordering a new one for him — the same model as the one we just bought. And tonight I showed him how to type and send a text message. He did a neat thing — he sent one to the same phone and it worked. That’s an easy way of checking text reception all by oneself.

Dealing with phone companies is not my favorite activity because they don’t tell you everything you would like to know before you make a decision, so I’m happy it’s done. The new phone is supposed to get here Tuesday. All in all, a couple of jobs well done and a feeling of satisfaction. 🙂

there are vast parts of my phone i’ll never use.
i use it for emergencies only… or if the marine needs to reach me when i’m away from home.
i started to look into that phone they call the ‘jitter bug’ i think… for people who only want it for what i do. it’s simple … supposedly very uncomplicated… and has large buttons… and whatever.
but reve’ has me on their family plan with at&t and i pay her 160.00 each yr. for my share. and i’m furnished a phone. but i haven’t taken the last FOUR upgrades!!! mine doesn’t text. and has a flip up lid! a dinosaur cell phone.
    🙂

That sounds like a good deal. Andy’s phone, to be replaced tomorrow with any luck, could send and receive text messages, except we blocked them, and the phone is 10-20 years old. (It was a replacement for our old analog phone when they switched to digital.) We didn’t even know how to text, but looking at it now I could do it because of the past few days. Here’s a picture of it. The new one is a flip-top, which is a improvement. 🙂

I wouldn’t be surprised if yours had that capability too. Not that you need it.

Since you don’t need or want all the bells and whistles and you are happy, then I’m happy.

Thanks. The main thing is Andy is willing to use it, and it will probably work most of the time. We will report on that soon.

good to find a good communicator for the home in the forest and the man in said place, as long as he is has it on him, and not sitting on the sink bench…whilst he is whistling outside working…
