Planting Seeds

Judge each day not by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant.
—Robert Louis Stevenson

Have you planted any “seeds” lately?

And let’s not forget wonder:

If I had influence with the good fairy who is supposed to preside over the christening of all children, I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life.
–Rachel Carson

Have you been blessed with that gift?

    the sense of wonder?
    yes.
    I can honestly say yes.
though I do not know how exactly I got it.
but I did. and I seem to keep it no matter how old I get.
as a matter of fact… age seems to make it grow greater!

  2. I remember making a point of setting up opportunities for exploration of all sorts of natural phenomena when I taught the younger grades—providing a study of seeds was one of them. I got a lot out of doing that. It is so satisfying watching children being excited about discovering things!

Yes indeed I have been blessed with a sense of wonder. Have I planted a seed today? Yes, in fact more than one in the mind of my son on some very important issues.

I’ve always had a sense of wonder. There are so many extraordinary people and things in the world – nature, landscapes, new inventions, artists, musicians, writers, you name it. How can anyone fail to be amazed by all these things?

yes, I have a sense of wonder.
sometimes when it gets bad at work
I’ll go outside and stand with the dogs out in the big grass area
and watch the ducks flying overhead
or whatever it may be that day.

and I’m planting a whole lot of seeds!
    literally and figuratively.
    😉

yesterday I had to reply to a query about where to buy some soft merino for a baby shawl – I planted a seed that if she was in Auckland, we would love to see either the shawl or a photo when it was done…

I am trying to make positive comments either verbally or writerly of recent weeks, on Tuesday I complimented this lassie on a very interesting hat she had constructed from a gorgeous scarf/shawl – as I left the bus stop she was waiting at…I could see she was complimented on that as well…:-)
