Dogs don’t really want to catch squirrels? Tell that to Montana and she would laugh in your face.

The cartoon reminds me of the dogs and squirrels at Cornell. A squirrel would be sitting at the base of a tree munching on an acorn and a dog would be crouched a couple of hundred feet away, watching the squirrel and waiting to make his move. Then he would take off like a shot, aiming straight towards the squirrel. The squirrel would remain unperturbed until the last few seconds, then it would zip up the tree until the dog went away.

The dogs used to remind me of Charlie Brown and the football, but now I think of the people who play the lottery. The odds of them winning are slim, but what a payoff if they do!

This human, on the other hand, doesn’t want to catch the squirrel. He just wants it to go away and leave his bird feeder alone!

    I say YAYYY little squirrel!
    little courageous persistent resilient fellow!
    BOO to the mad innkeeper.
anyone who would go to that much trouble to keep part of nature from being natural… seems almost pathological to me. BOO!!!
my humor regarding such people is nil.
    loved the cartoon though! LOL!!!

I’ve never had a dog who could catch squirrels until Shyla. She is quick but, when I scream, she drops them unharmed. It actually really upsets me but I have to remind myself that I invited predators (dogs) into my life, and their brains are hardwired to go after prey. It’s a struggle for me because I love all animals!!!

we don’t have “squirrels” at all…not even in zoos!

a friend of mine in Athens, Georgia – likes birds and has seed bird feeder, we are constantly in awe at this “new feeders, his methods” of keeping the pesky squirrels from eating the bird seeds 🙂

There’s a TV series called American Ninja Warriors.
    Have you seen it?
It’s fun to watch at first but then I got bored.
I find this much more entertaining.
Although I did keep thinking that they just needed to set out a plate of seed for the squirrel.

No, I’ve never seen that program.

I’m guessing putting out food for the squirrels would just attract more of them, so the bird feeders still wouldn’t be safe.
