Digging Instead of Sawing

Andy hasn’t had to clear the road of many trees lately, but he has dug a ditch.

The soil at the outlet of the culvert was even with the bottom of the culvert, so as rocks and debris came out they had no place to go. They piled up and blocked the opening, so the culvert filled with debris.

Hopefully the new ditch will solve the problem. Andy’s back hopes so!

Yes, backs – particularly the lower part – do occasionally prove the weakest link in the machinery that constitutes our skeleton. I am blessed – though did two, remarkable for my rather unusual stupidity in all matters practical, bits of lifting in the the last few years. So stupid I can’t believe it. Served me right, being in agony for about six weeks a piece. Still, the bliss when it’s all good again makes it all worthwhile. Till you forget …

Plant a tree, clear a path, dig a ditch … good on Andy.

WOW. here’s hoping he only has to dig it once.
