Adventures

I burst out laughing at this comic because the subtitle for this blog is Life as a Shared Adventure.

I agree with the wizard. Some adventures are more fun than others.

I agree — at least when it comes to going to the dentist. We go to one whose advertising meme is “We cater to cowards.” They do everything they can to avoid causing pain — and the worst usually ends up being the Novocaine.

It’s still an adventure I’d rather avoid.

and he was SO happy in the middle one! LOL
some adventures wind up badly. necessarily. but badly. 😀

My last dentist adventure turned out much better than expected!
After years of dealing with a tooth and infection, I had them pull it and
now NO problems. It’s way back in my mouth so no one can see it!
    😀
I should have done that sooner!

I really do not understand all the fuss about going to dentists. Sure it is painful sometimes, but not more than other kinds of pains that we suffer due to health problems.

Actually the worse pain I ever experienced was when a dentist drilled down to a nerve without novocaine. I was 8 at the time and had a phobia about dentists for 8 years. I cured myself when I was 16 — probably the most empowering thing I ever did. It changed my life.

In the five years before going in the Navy, I went from 1 cavity (total) to a mouth full of cavities, which, of course, was going to be “fixed” by the Navy dentists, whether I liked it or not. I’m pretty sure that most of them were “newbie” dentists, not long out of school. It was a very unpleasant series of painful experiences. I’ve not had but a very few instances of similar non-dental pain and none of those were “inflicted” on me by someone else. I go to the dentist by choice, though, after letting my dental care go so long that I ended up with bad toothaches and gum disease.

the pain is often the pocket book kind of pain!
