Hail

We had some hail Monday.

8-15-16 Hail

It tore some of the leaves off the fruit trees and bruised some of the apples. But no serious damage there.

The two tomato plants were another matter. Previous hail had beaten them down to a couple of inches tall.

And the latest one tore all the remaining leaves off.

it makes me think of that saying…
“nature is not cruel it’s harsh. cruelty implies intent.”
but wow. HARSH it definitely is.
the little apple tree didn’t get the memo though!
it’s producing its heart out! xo

Yes! Andy is pleased about the fruit trees. They’re his babies. The tomatoes are just an experiment, thank goodness. If Torben and Kaitlin want a roof on the greenhouse for the future, Andy will have it installed. But it would be mainly for them. He has too many other projects he’s working on.

dam – the hail – your tomatoes 🙁

we have had some heavy fogs but in the last week, mostly sunny… that won’t last, although people are inclined to say “Spring is soon here…”

    poor tomatoes.
I haven’t planted any for a few years
but I think I will next year.
A co-worker brought in some extra ones from her garden for us
and I really wish I grown some now
    because they were SO good!
