8-22-16 Weeds in Greenhouse

The bare patch is where Andy planted the tomatoes. They didn’t do well, but we did get a lovely crop of weeds.

And aren’t those “weeds” pretty, with their life affirming sun shine yellow heads.

  2. Judging from the location of the hose, it looks like you watered them well!

    ditto ursula!
I have personally always liked weeds. many of them have beautiful flowers.
I think dandelions are lovely. and I hear they’re good in a salad!

I always identified with skunk cabbages, especially coming up through cracks in the sidewalk. They don’t have to be beautiful for me to admire them.

I have never been able to figure out why weeds are considered to be ‘bad’!

obviously you need to think “herbs” and grow them for salad ingredients…

I love weeds, I also love grass – that isn’t manicured to a short, short length…I love the way some plants, just grow without the aid of anything extra…like your wild-weed patch.

Maybe Andy could do “wild-flowers” here you can buy packets of seeds for just such an area.

    • Jean says:

We have bought wildflower seeds, and Andy has sowed them around the house and shed. The birds love them but some manage to escape and grow.
