Best laid plans … you have got it all mapped out only to fall at the last hurdle. Brilliant. Let’s hope that once the dog moves its paw there is still life left in the little daffodil. And, daffodils being such friendly plants, I am sure she’ll forgive your furry friend.

Whereas I used to declare full scale war on all those dastardly grey squirrels who’d do a Tarzan in my lovingly tended garden – jumping from one six foot tall sunflower to the next – often breaking their heads in the process. If I had had a shooter I wouldn’t have been able to vouch for my actions.

Other than that, Jean, you are right: Spring is in the air.

    LOLOL!
    spring?
we’ve already had summer in the air here. but …
not complaining. that’s going to be my motto for the year…
we’ll see how long it lasts. πŸ˜€

  3. Dogs have been a part of my household most of my life, although the real doggy lovers are my son and daughter. They love ALL dogs, whereas it takes a special dog to win my heart. My all time favorite dog was a pomeranian female, with a exceptionally loving personality. Unfortunately, small dogs do not have a long life, and we had to say goodbye way too soon.

No dog has a long life, which is why living with them takes courage.

It’s even worse with larger dogs:

“Dogs from bigger breeds don’t live as long as smaller ones. The small breeds have an average life expectancy of 12 to 14 years; for larger breeds, it’s 8 to 10; and for the so-called β€œgiant breeds,” lifespan is 5 to 8 years.”

Sammy is remarkable at 14 years, but he’s having more and more health problems.

I’m not sure if this cartoon is actually about what “dogs can achieve” it looks like a metaphor for how “something tragic can happen when you least expect” and “from an unexpected source”
