Animal Lovers

dogs-vs-cats
Are you a dog or a cat person? Do you agree with this slideshow that the choice of a pet reveals something about someone’s personality? (I’m skeptical, but I thought it was interesting.)

Will you be joining the over 100 million people in 198 countries watching the Super Bowl today? Or would you rather join the millions of viewers watching the Puppy Bowl?

Apparently 10 years ago people at the Animal Planet TV channel were talking about how useless it was to try to compete with the Super Bowl. Someone said they might as well just show some puppies running around on a field. The idea caught on and they’ve been having a mock football game ever since. With time the program has gotten more elaborate and the number of viewers. Last year over 12 million people watched the program during its various airings.

So this year the Hallmark Channel is offering the Kitten Bowl:

And Nat Geo WILD is having fun by offering the Fish Bowl — literally four straight hours of a fish swimming around in a bowl.

It’s nice to know creativity isn’t dead.

I can tolerate cats but prefer dogs. I will not watch any TV programme. I have got better things to do.

I like cats, the ones that were mine. I got carried away here & watched Dancing Cats Competition.
I kissed my dog on the nose when I was pregnant with the 1st. Someone said, “You won’t do that when you have a baby.” True
    Loved the videos you posted.

Having at one point in my life a family of at least 5 indoor and a couple of outdoor cats – all clambering to be fed when I arrived home from work, before I had even thought about creating a dinner for me and SO – am not enamoured with anything that requires this amount of attention…

Who is as fussy as a two year human, who steals food, who scratches human when things aren’t right, who makes messes that we humans are obliged to deal with, who cries violently when placed in a cat cage or disappears at the mention of the word “cattery”, one who was very pregnant an fell of the garage apex – whilst trying to extract a baby bird from the nest in the little hole; or another one who climbed up the traddies ladder onto the roof and couldn’t find a way down…

Then those who feel the need to hide when sick, and need vet treatment, finding the thorniest bush on the property and the human comes off 2nd best, almost requiring medical treatment…

Then there are the characters, one day a crying noise heard and cat yowling – go out and find this rather large dog/crying whilst a little thin/tiny cat has it baled up…dog had come from another property…it never came back!

Or the cat who arrived home with a large uncooked steak, heaven knows where from…many neighbours!

Or a cat who came to visit – almost daily and would stroll in, never wanted food and sit on the couch with SO and me and “chat” and then leave – where from never did find out…

an artificial bunch of silk flowers with long green (plastic fronds) that seemed to be shrinking the “fronds” to discover one cat was eating them…had to remove silk flowers before he started on the flowers…

But every night without fail all STANDING AT door, waiting for the human who has the food, meowing like they have never been feed!

I had thought recently to get a song bird but I still haven’t got there either….
