Someone told Torben about this game, so he built one for the pups. Sammy didn’t understand it, but he seemed to enjoy it. He did get plenty of treats out of it at the end.
Here is a video of the original device. Bella’s approach seemed more sensible than Sammy’s, but he also got some treats.

Sammy the doer and Montana the Manager!
Actually Banshee (his sister, now deceased) was the real manager. She was definitely in charge. If she and Sammy were given a treat puzzle she would look at it, then turn it over to him. He would crunch it with his powerful jaws and they would eat the treat.
You are training their smartness. This is what they do for crows & other birds because they’re smart too. Great videos.
Actually, Sammy isn’t very smart — he solves his problems with his mouth and strong jaws. He is sweet, though.
