The above cartoon is a bit of an exaggeration, of course. And as I’ve said, the customer service department of our health insurance company is easily accessible. The billing department, not so much.

But progress has been made. We recently received an email saying they’re now trying to get the refund from the provider instead of from us. According the Customer Service the provider returned the money months ago, but at least we should no longer be pestered. Yay!

Well, as I’ve said before, I’m glad I use the NHS and billing is no concern of mine. And just suppose all the money spent on the billing and insurance process was diverted to healthcare itself….

I’m glad you’re getting good health care. Cathy in NZ seems to have long waits before she can see someone.

    • Cathy in NZ says:

long waits if it’s not an emergency…

if something had shown up at the GP/primary care unit, that was urgent they would have called an ambulance and got me in instantly…

but the heart related thing is just “old” not in need to true assistance…

Once upon a time, I did have health insurance but now I don’t have the extra for it…and I know if I was emergency I would get treatment.

It’s nice to have that safety net. The U.S. system is a mess.

    I agree! Yay!!!!

We’ve just gotten a slew of checks from providers returning money to us! Can you imagine? I guess they didn’t wait for the insurance to pay up before sending us bills. The system is such a mess.

    • Jean says:

I agree. I used to try to keep track of what was going on, but it’s hopeless. That’s great about you getting money back, though!
