Had I been the King, that is exactly what I would have done.

No, for me bring on all the disasters 😀 And all the new medical news so I can benefit. I’m curious. I want to know what’s going on in the world.

I’m curious too, and I read a lot of news. The main thing is to realize the headlines are often designed to get our attention.

    Yes and no.

One way I have of handling this is when I see headlines like, “X may be bad for you” to reply in my head, “And may be not”.

I think that the news is designed to be alarming these days, because that’s what attracts peoples’ attention. The same news could be delivered with a less alarming main message – and that would be more balanced and informative. I’ve stopped watching all TV news. I now just listen to NPR, read the NYT, and watch Jon Stewart!

    • Jean says:

I’m with you — I don’t watch TV news. I do read balanced articles because we’re living in historic times. There’s a lot going on. It’s also good chance to practice stress-hardiness!
