No Complaining? Fat Chance

Will Bowen used this cartoon in his book, A Complaint Free World: How to Stop Complaining and Start Enjoying the Life You Always Wanted. The idea, of course, is don’t waste your time complaining but instead change your life for the better.

Cheoah over at The Thundering Herd says,

I should be so lucky. I’ve been trapped in this crate ever since I had knee surgery over six weeks ago. For the first six weeks the only time I got out was for potty breaks, and even then I wasn’t allowed to walk by myself. Hu-dad had to support me in a sling so I wouldn’t put weight on the leg. Now I’m allowed to walk by myself, but except for potty breaks and a 10-minute walk each day I’m still trapped here. Not complain? Fat Chance. I proclaim my unhappiness to the whole world!

Good luck, Cheoah — and Hu-dad!

I have just returned from watching a movie where the lead star tells a girl gone astray to change her life and eventually she does with some help from the star. It can happen in films. In the real world things can be difficult but by complaining about it nothing changes. Endeavouring to change the situation at least makes living worthwhile.

i read a book once on complaining… where the author said to put a loose rubber band around your wrist. every time you complained you were to change it to the other wrist.
it was supposed to make you ‘aware’ of your complaining.
i found myself complaining about having to move the rubber band so much! LOLOL.
    and…
you complain ALL you want cheoah. as if you even need permission! NOT!
it’s all part of healing no doubt. keeps the adrenalin going. get better soon!!!

  3. Cheoah says she plans to continue complaining until she is fully recovered and back with The Herd full time!

weird idea Tammy to stop complaining…but then again heaps of weird things are offered to us everyday to curb whatever 🙂

As I recall the author of the book was the one who talked about having a bracelet that you switched every time you complained. A simple but effective idea to raise our awareness. Fun stuff.
