Preparing for Winter

Tuesday the fellow came up to refill our propane tank, and Andy has been busy chopping wood for the winter.

He’s hoping to chop another stack like the one above. That would be three times the amount he burned last winter — they’re predicting El Niño will bring plenty of snow, and his solar heating system doesn’t work well when there’s no sun.

Are you doing anything special to prepare for the changing season?

    what a wonderful view!
and look at the green throughout… instead of totally blackened trees.
nothing like a cozy fire inside when it’s cold and snowy outside!
    and…
nope. no prep for me for the upcoming season.
well. i DID have the marine remove two of my wicker arm chairs.
i now only have three in here. the ones i truly use.
i never have any company… so thought … why on earth am i cluttering up my space with all these chairs? LOLOL.
now i only have three. one by the window. one by my desk and lamp here.
and the other for watching tv. PERFECT! and it feels very spacious in the wren house now! so … i guess i DID prepare just a little. 🙂

No, I have done nothing to prepare.
I prefer to wait until it’s bitter cold outside
and the threat of my water pipes freezing are imminent.
That’s when I choose to run outside and try to get the garden hose off of the spigot.
    I enjoy that, I mean I must….right?
Why else would I do it every single year?
    xo

I would love to put my wintery clothing away but Spring often is as cold as Winter – so I dare not…

I may be in for another surprise with the summer duds though because I think there was a shortage…I know there is a shortage of trousers because they are same ones as winter, just wear a pair of light weight thermals under for winter…
