Andy added a small green and a large red light to the configuration, so there are now five in all.
Without the binoculars or camera we could see there was more than one light source and we did see some red from both lights, but the blue didn’t show up this time. With the binoculars the lights were bright and separated and they did look like Christmas. 🙂
The was no moon when we went up last night, but we did see two elk on one of the dirt roads when we drove up, and we saw this one next to the highway on the way down.
Even though it was a lot colder than last time (23° F), it was still a good trip.

what a beautiful elk… looking right at you!
spent the entire day with the marine.
lunch at the cheese cake factory… and buying christmas presents for the boys.
i think andy’s had so much fun with his light idea.
and who knows? it may be cheering somebody who is lonely out there.
and looking forward each night to seeing those lovely lights!
and books?
they have been my friends my entire life! xoxo
I’m with you about books — they can be friends too! Just like people, some more so than others. 🙂
I’m glad you had a good time today. Hearing that always makes me happy.
You seem to be having a grand time with all the wild neighbours to greet you!
Yes, they do make it fun, as long as you don’t drive too fast when they’re around. Many a car has been totaled and elk killed in collisions.
What a ghostly, eerie picture! He doesn’t seem the slightest bit afraid. Be careful driving on those roads, although I trust their animal instinct to keep them out of your path! Most of the time, anyway!
One has to be careful not overdrive one’s headlights. Collisions are disastrous for cars and elks alike.
