A Happy, Productive Day

Torben and Kaitlin burned the pile of slash that Torben collected last July:

Then we came home early so we could choose the custom-made table and chairs to replace the card table in the living room. The local store has a wide selection, and Kaitlin and Torben were a big help in choosing. The salesman was helpful too, which didn’t surprise us. He’s the one who helped us choose our love seat.

It will take at least a couple of months until the furniture is finished, and they won’t be able to bring it up until spring, but presumably it will be there by the time Kaitlin, Torben, and the pups come in July.

It was a happy, productive day in spite of the overcast. We usually manage to create our own sunshine when we’re together.

    Sounds like a good day.

We’re having our own fun with new furniture. After a several week wait, our new bedroom furniture was delivered just before Christmas, only to have Karen discover before the delivery men left that one of the chests (mine) had a large chip out of the wood on one of the drawers. One would think that the store would be able to get a replacement for the single drawer, but, no, they don’t do partial replacements, so we will have a replacement chest delivered in one or two weeks.

I love the way you consult together as a family – with input from all I guess… having not bought anything new of that magnitude for what seems like forever I don’t know the process to go through here…

The local store makes it easy — they will even deliver to the house for only $25. We feel lucky that it’s there.

It is more fun with Kaitlin and Torben being involved. They have a lot more experience with houses and furniture than we do, so they’re invaluable. Plus it’s great for creating family memories.

I love that, that you are creating sunny memories!

  7. Yep. Sounds like a great day. A happy and productive day for me is when I’m able to fine-tune my latest mobile game.
