Poor Fence

It was windy Monday night and Tuesday. One of the forecasts was:

LOCAL IMPACTS…STRONG GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH CREATE DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE DAMAGE TO ROOFS… UTILITY POLES…AND TREES.

VISIBILITY MAY ABRUPTLY REDUCE IN BLOWING DUST. LOOSE OBJECTS SUCH AS LAWN FURNITURE MAY BECOME AIRBORNE.

So it wasn’t surprising that Andy cleared about eight trees off the roads Tuesday.

We didn’t expect this tree to clobber the fence though:

After the fence got clobbered the first time Andy had thought he might get someone up there to repair it, but now he’s going to wait until after most of the dangerous trees have fallen. 🙂

On the plus side, the daffodils are in bloom.

  1. That was a substantially sized tree! I think I’ve asked this of you before, (but here goes again!), can you say what the tree species is? I love plant life, so am interested.

Oh, it got the gate, too! That’s the worst place to hit, isn’t it?

we’ve had those same winds for days on end.
one night I thought the roof was going to blow off.
I hope the tall pine tree right outside my big window never falls!
it won’t be pretty in here if it does! 🙂

we managed not just the wind but in parts of the country severe flooding…so it must have been a worldwide segment…

this Easter Saturday here, and now see the sun if pouring in although earlier it looked like it was going to be right stormy…

I am not sure how I missed this one – poor fence! Boy is it changing up there in a dynamic way. I just love the blue skies and the yellow flowers. I am hoping ours come out this week.

We got SNOW the other day.
    Before that was the winds.
Blew a piece of soffit off my house.
    🙁
But nothing like your poor fence and gate!
    How upsetting.
    The daffodils are lovely though!
    xoxoxo

This time of year the winds are worse than snow. The snow doesn’t last very long, but the wind damage is another matter.
