Heartbreaking

Montana2 enhanced

Montana is lost. She and Sammy were getting groomed Monday when she managed to escape and run away. The heartbreaking part is the groomers had taken off her collar and tags, so she doesn’t have her return information on her. On the other hand, she has been microchipped, which is invaluable if she winds up in a shelter.

Kaitlin and Torben have been searching for her, of course, but no luck so far. Still, all is not lost — they found good information online about how to proceed, and Kaitlin stayed up until 3 yesterday morning designing posters. By now they have a lot of people helping to spread the word and hopefully some of the things they are trying will pay off. Torben has written about it in At a Loss for Words.

Please keep your fingers crossed for them all.

I saw this late last night – but was unable to respond…

gentle hugs, and hope by now there is great news

Thanks, but no good news yet. She was spotted by a golf course, but they had no luck asking people around there. They need another sighting to know where to look. I will let you know.

I am so so sorry, Jean. It’s awful when a pet (indeed anyone) goes missing. However, the good news is that there have been sightings of her. And, yes, micro chipping is a god send.

Is Montana trusting or shy of strangers? If the former, her chances of being caught/found sooner rather than later are good. Not least because at some point she will need to eat.

    Best of luck,
    Hug,
    U

PS The staff at the grooming parlour must be in knots.

Yes, the groomer is devastated too. He and his family were out looking too.

Montana is shy of strangers, but it’s starting to look encouraging. Sammy is now giving updates on her blog:

That’s a relief to me, because I’ve been worried about Kaitlin, Torben and Sammy too.

Omg! I’m just now reading this!
Do they have FB accounts? Here in my town there’s a place to post online and then everyone shares it. A huge amount of dogs have been found and reunited. Thank god she’s micro-chipped!
I’m going to focus on her being home with her family ASAP!
    Please keep us posted!
    Xoxoxo

  6. I’m so sorry to read this, and hope, hope, hope that Montana is found quickly and safely!!
