We’ll Just Have to See

Whether or not you agree with what Trump said in his speech to Congress last night, he did try to appear presidential. Here’s the full transcript if you’re interested.

I didn’t watch much of the speech, and I’m not interested in the details. I’m more curious to see how much of what he proposes will get through Congress.

As the New York Times says,

Like many presidents before him, President Trump is pushing a bold budget proposal. But for a business executive used to getting his way, he is likely to find, as his predecessors did, that final budgets often bear little resemblance to the originals after being run through the shredder on Capitol Hill.

It will be interesting to see how he reacts.

  1. Hopefully, he will react with some measure of dignity and maturity. The job of President requires that a person be full grown and in possession of some self-restraint. The time for full blown temper tantrums is over.

Yes, it will be interesting to see how he reacts to cuts and changes.

    I did watch the speech.
it seemed like another campaign speech really. so many generalities.
however he acted far more presidential than he ever has and seemed in better control of his temper.
really if they could ALL simply meet each other even half way.
I guess one can dream of that happening …
    forever! 🙂

It’s hard for moderates to get elected. People aren’t willing to compromise their values, and that’s the way they see issues.

I like the use of “shredder” in this context. 🙂

I quickly scanned the transcript – boy he has a huge amount of “actions” that he needs to attend to – and seemingly all states/counties are going to tow the line etc – I just can’t imagine it all happening before your 250th anniversary…

none of it seems simple or in the regions of very few $$ which I think is what you are saying about why will actually go forth…via treasury etc.

okay we can only “wait and see”…
