Taxes

We received another yet another corrected form from Vanguard and put the changes in our amended 1040 income tax. Needless to say, we will not mail our amended forms until the last minute. I have learned my lesson. 🙂

That isn’t taking much time, but we also received our tax assessment for our land Monday, and the taxes have tripled. I’m doing research on what other plots of land up there are taxed to gather data for our protest. The system seems to be crazy so we will try to write a well-reasoned report and hope for the best. The nice thing is we don’t have to go down to the courthouse, about an hour and a half away, for the research. We do plan to go down in person to talk to them.

Play your part well and let go of the results. Sigh. Life is full of opportunities to practice.

Happiness as a spiritual practice. The reason it’s so powerful is we have continual feedback about how were doing. Once we develop an observing consciousness we can see how our thoughts/attitudes are upsetting us and use our energy and attention constructively.
