Gazing Ball and Cherry Trees

Beate and Tim are back for the summer, and they bought Andy a new gazing ball. It’s made of steel, and it didn’t have a hole in it to mount on the yellow stake, but they attached it anyway:

Depending on the light Andy could sometimes/sometimes not see it from our porch without binoculars. He took a picture of it when he didn’t need the binoculars, but it doesn’t show up in this low-resolution picture:

One thing we can notice is the area is greener than it was a few weeks ago (April 28)!

We had thought we would go up tonight for a picnic supper so I could see the cherry blossoms and lilacs:

But the weather didn’t look promising so we will wait until this weekend. It’s supposed to get cold tonight, so fingers crossed the blossoms will still be there.

yep, I can see it’s getting greener at least near your new ball…hope to see photos of your picnic trip (although I’m a bit behind on blog-reading)

Weekend is just a day away here! I am looking forward to it as well as there is a meeting of the local alumni chapter where we oldies will interact with fresh graduates recently employed in Pune and also summer interns here for their internships. Should be interesting. I will be the senior most alumnus there and have been promised a lot of questioning!
