Yes, there is no way of telling. Given our overpopulation it’s hard not to expect massive culling at some point.
More random design than intelligent design. Any human being who was commissioned to make and populate a planet, and came up with so many defective products, would be fired pretty quickly.
It’s all one huge experiment.
