Poetic Justice

A guide was leading a group of trophy hunters in Zimbabwe when the group came across a herd of breeding elephants and started firing at them. Three of the elephants charged directly at the group, and a fourth elephant charged from the side and grabbed the guide with her trunk. One of the hunters shot and killed that elephant, but when she fell she landed right on the guide and killed him instantly.

It’s hard not to think of that as poetic justice.

I couldn’t agree more. It is poetic justice at its best.

All those photos of people standing proudly beside some innocent animal they’ve just slaughtered are sickening. It’s wonderful to hear reports of hunters who’ve had their comeuppance.

I read yesterday of a hunter crushed and killed by an elephant that had just been shot. Good riddance. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-39996592

Oh, it’s the same story. But there was another story of a hunter who was eaten by a crocodile, also in Zimbabwe. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-39658126

  4. I’m sickened by the images of hunters standing by their ‘kill’, as well. People seem to be changing their minds about the acceptability of this practice, so one can only hope it ends, either by legislation or lack of interest.

    Poetic justice indeed!
