Shredders

Kaitlin and Torben can relate to that. Sammy doesn’t do much nowadays, but Tempi is quite capable of doing the job all by herself.

and tonight my thoughts are with tim and beate.
it suddenly becomes personal when you know wonderful people right there.
let us know when you hear from them! xo

They’re safe in the San Antonio area, I think. Beate said she did the sane thing and visited her horse, who was also evacuated, and didn’t think about Harvey for 8 hours. Wise lady!

      Fingers crossed for them.

I think they are in Hill Country, and safe so far. Fingers crossed for everyone.

That cartoon made me laugh so much, Jean; the way you laugh when you recognize something.

I once boarded our two cats (mother and son) when the Angel and I went away for a few days. Never again. Fleury was fine. Bouncer went beserk. Not only did he “howl” all night, every night, presumably with the outrage of having his freedom curtailed and not being “home”, in his abject fury he also shredded his mattress – the one I though would give him comfort – into the tiniest bits. On our return the owner of what can only be called an idyllic establishment for cats handed me a plastic bag – with the evidence. It was funny (to me) and embarrassing (for Fleury, his mother) at the same time.

He was such a massive cat by body build yet the soppiest, most affectionate (and shiest with strangers) I have ever encountered. After that, whenever we went away our neighbour being a good friend of mine would keep an eye on them, so we could leave them in the comfort of our home and garden. No more shredding.

Tempi looks such an endearing dog. Makes me smile the way she looks as if not quite satisfied yet with her handiwork (make that pawiwork). I suppose even damage can be tweaked till it’s perfect.

    U

LOL Thelma and Louise, have set the scene perfectly for Tempi – it’s history that things must be shredded!

When I had a bunch of furry cats, their specialty was shredding the wallpaper, I never could understand how far they could reach up a wall…

Another had a fixation of eating anything green, including me asking my DH what is happening to that artificial plant, are you cutting the fronds! Until one evening, in walked that cat and made a beeline for said plant and was nibbling the fronds off – plastic fronds!!

We had a Cocker Spaniel called Sheba in the early eighties who, as a pup tore up not only paper but upholstery, shoes and anything else that she could lay her teeth into. We had to give her away to someone else for reasons other than her propensity for such behaviour but she grew to be a fine pet for the people who adopted her for 12 years. Our current resident Chutki has not shown any such interest whatsoever!

Sammy and Banshee (Sammy’s sister) were like that when they were pups. When tempi shreds things Kaitlin says, “At least it’s not the banister or the dining room table.”

    Kaitlin and Torben are saints.
    Truly.
Most of my crew are pretty good
    about not shredding things.
    except, of course Jimmy Chew….
    Sigh.
He makes up for them all.
