A Ray of Hope?

Last month Trump

… rolled back rules regarding environmental reviews and restrictions on government-funded building projects in flood-prone areas as part of his proposal to spend $1 trillion to fix aging U.S. infrastructure.

[The executive order] would speed approvals of permits for highways, bridges, pipelines and other major building efforts. It revokes an Obama-era executive order aimed at reducing exposure to flooding, sea level rise and other consequences of climate change.

Rumor has it that now, after Harvey, Trump may be reconsidering those regulations. And, as this article points out, Congress can also act on the knowledge we’ve had for years. Fingers, and everything else, crossed that they come to their senses!

when someone gets rid of a piece of legislation that has been approved after careful consideration just because that legislation was supported and begun by an individual you are trying to undermine everything they did … strictly as a power play…
that is not ruling with your head.
i’m not even sure if it can be called ruling. it’s like a kid on the playground…
“na na na na na! I’ve got the ball now and you don’t! I’m gonna get rid of all the stuff you did! SO THERE!”
    even the good stuff?
    apparently. climate change go hang.

Actually the regulations were an executive order, not legislation. The Republicans in Congress opposed almost everything Obama proposed, so he resorted to executive orders instead. Unfortunately, those orders can be easily overturned by a new president.

crazy “kids” – adult ones are something that seems to fit with “we don’t want to use our brains…” – the ones situated in your heads/mind…
