Fruits and Vegetables

We’ve probably all read that eating fruits and vegetables is good for our health. A recent study says they also help ward off frailty as we get older. I laughed when I read that because it reminded me of the fellow at the doctor’s office:

Doctor: Do you eat many fruits and vegetables?

Fellow: Yes, I had 8 apples yesterday.

Doctor: Really?

Fellow: Yes, they were in the pie I ate.

Do you think that counts?

I don’t eat pies as they are not as readily available here as they are over there. I however eat at least four a week. I eat many more bananas and other fruits.

  2. Sharon says:

I eat more than ‘required’ in fruits and veggies, also more than I should of other things. ,-)

  3. I have a soft spot for fruits and vegetables, as you might have observed from my recent post LOL. Sure, they are good for you, but so is pie, when eaten in moderation!

I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, but I’ve never liked pie crust. I used to have a bad sweet tooth, but for some reason it has gone away. I’m not complaining!

  4. Linda Sand says:

Absolutely! So do the carrots in carrot cake. 🙂

  5. Hattie says:

I eat lots of fruit. We grow a lot of our own bananas and dry them too, for snacks.

  6. Cathy in NZ says:

I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables as well, but not always in a scheduled kind of way.

Today, I’ve only managed an apple and a handful of cooked onion…just not in the mood for a full on vegetable night 🙂 But I have eaten, just not those particular kind of things…
