Hurray for Sleep!

Andy figures he picked up a flu bug at the ER last Sunday, because he felt sick and actually vomited Wednesday evening. There was blood in it and he couldn’t eat his dinner because of the pain in his esophagus, so he went back to the ER. They did some tests to make sure he wasn’t bleeding internally, but they kept him in the hospital overnight for observation. That gave me peace of mind, and it was the sensible thing to do, but it also meant he didn’t get much sleep that night with all the interruptions to check his vital signs, etc. So he stayed down here yesterday, then slept 9 to 10 hours last night, without a sleeping pill.

He had a lot more zip this morning, so went up to the land to take advantage of the sunshine to store heat in the floors. He took it easy and didn’t go for a walk. He’s not completely well yet, but it’s a lot better.

I’ve put in several long days uncluttering and rearranging the apartment and was getting tired, so when I started having symptoms of coming down with something today, I took a long nap this afternoon. Hurray for sleep!

I hope you were just tired from all the hard work and not coming down with anything. rest is key. it always seems to help us no matter what!
glad that andy is not going to try to push it.
but it will do him good just going up on his land no doubt. 🙂

Yesterday and today were sunny, so he wanted to take advantage of the sunshine to store heat in the floor. He was annoyed he fell back asleep this morning and didn’t wake up again until 9. He wanted to get up there earlier. I was glad he had the extra sleep. He took a little walk so came back tired. Hopefully he didn’t overdo it too much.

I hope you both feel well by now.

It’s good to take naps. I had my first one in a long time today. It didn’t last very long but my eyes appreciated the rest.

  3. Yep, sleep will heal you when nothing else helps. Hope both of you are feeling at the top of your game soon. This is an odd season of stress and busyness…don’t overdo it!

I’m pacing myself on the uncluttering/rearranging and am not doing much for Christmas. Just a very few presents to wrap and no decorations this year. I’ve never bought into the stress of Christmas, it’s a peaceful time for me.

Thanks for the good wishes. 🙂

sounds like “everyone is taking it a bit easier” nothing like a bit of a wake-up call to make us “stop and think” – as you know I’m on strict orders (which I signed i would do) of taking it easy – no strenuous exercise & such like.

i have been more or less good, although the first day I’m allowed and it’s sunny/dry – my lawn will need a hair cut. Our sunny period disppeared this arvo and it went a bit too cold for breeze through windows…

i too have nothing much to do about Christmas, but I did buy in a few nice food stuffs yesterday and my online shopping order is done, regular and couple of extra nice things. [it will interesting when I unpack tomorrow – delviery – how well i have done…always surprises…]

That’s good that they make people sign, to be sure they understand the importance of the rules. How long until you are free again? Andy gets his staples out tomorrow, but he has to follow orders for a month after his second trip to the ER.

I hope your surprises are pleasant ones! That’s so good that they deliver, it’s a blessing without a car.

My best wishes that both of you stay well and fit.
