Springtime

It’s sunny today, and the little bit of snow we got yesterday is long gone.

The downside of all the sun we have been having is the fire season has started already. It’s a couple of months early this year because of the drought. Fingers crossed.

Fingers and toes crossed. We’re having a drought in Minnesota, too. Scary.

it’s similar here…last week, I had to get non-summery PJ’s – last night I was back to summer nightwear…but when I woke at some point, I needed another bed cover on!

everything stays crossed here too! we’ve had terrible straight winds for the last three days. and we’re under extreme ‘fire danger.’
one just hopes nobody carelessly throws out a cigarette!
but Sunday there’s a small possibility of rain! so YES!
    we’re all 4 staying crossed!

I send you best wishes that the fires do not recur. We have had one down South with disastrous results. http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/tamil-nadu/live-tamil-nadu-forest-fire-updates/article23040769.ece

Mostly we don’t have human casualties here in NM, but as the article points out, as time goes on people could very well get trapped. Andy has only one way out now because the Forest Service has closed some of his old options, so he’s making sure he has a large defensible space around the house, and he has high quality smoke masks if he’s up there and a fire cuts off his exit. Sooner or later another fire will happen.
