Fire Season

Andy is now moving the firewood from the porch to the rack a safe distance away from the house.

As it turns out, our first fire this season was yesterday afternoon behind our apartment building.

It didn’t take the firemen long to get here — someone said they were driving by on the way to get some gas — and they quickly put it out. But it is a good reminder that it’s fire season.

i just now turned on the tv. i keep it on the weather channel as the go to.
then change it as needed for what i want to see. they said your whole area from south of Albuquerque and most of the state is under ‘critical fire watch.’
not comforting words. you and we have and continue to be in severe drought.
it showed the parts of Oklahoma that have already burned and i wondered what could possibly be left if it caught fire now!
and you behind the apts fire is definitely too close for comfort!!! what in the world could have caused that? a cigarette?
our winds are terrible today. high straightlines and gusting. hopefully no more arcs will happen for either of us.

It’s too scary that it’s already fire season. I’m so glad that they got it out very quickly!

  3. yep, cigarette from a car window – is one of the main causes here when it “just is seen” – throw the butt which isn’t quite out towards the “shoulder” hoping it will be out by the time it rolls down to that juicy piece of dry grass…

    take are CM and Andy

We are in the midst of a heat wave. Forest fires close by cannot be ruled out. We badly need some summer showers.

When do your showers usually start? We used to get a rainy season starting in July, but they’ve been very puny lately.

    Around the tenth of June.
