It didn’t all fit, so he will probably end up covering the rest with some fire resistant blanket.
We also received an email from the Forest Service about a fire in the Espanola Ranger District:
Vegetation: Ponderosa pine, juniper, and piñon pine
Weather: Southwest winds will continue across the area today at 12 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
Situation: The fire was reported the afternoon of Monday, April 30. 4 airtankers dropped retardant on the fire yesterday. Approximately 60 firefighters are on scene including 4 engines, 2 water tenders, one 20 person hotshot crew, one 20 person handcrew, and one helicopter. Firefighters will spend today improving and enforcing containment lines.
On Monday, April 30, airtanker operations were suspended on the fire, after drone incursion. A reminder wildfires are a no drone zone. If you fly, we can’t. Every time a drone is spotted near the fire all aircraft are grounded until we can be sure the drone is clear of this area. More info visit http://knowbeforeyoufly.org/.

Drones—a new hazard to worry about! I can’t imagine who would want to be such a nuisance!
They’re probably not thinking, or else think the views or videos they take (big assumption here) are worth the risk.

but then maybe i can. people no longer stop or pull out of the way for ambulances and fire trucks either. it’s incredible.
i will cross everything. i saw on tv about the critical situation of high winds and dryness all across NM. i wish Andy wouldn’t spend the night there. just the days. if he had to escape quickly at night it might not be good.
but probably no sense in trying to get him to do as we worriers would like!

Andy never spends the night, but he can if trees on the road or a fire blocks his way home.

It’s against the law to fly drones over wildfires, but they still don’t know how to catch the perpetrators. Sooner or later they will solve that problem.
