I didn’t post anything yesterday because I’ve been developing a new website: StressToPower.cheerfulmonk.com. It’s about living life fully in spite of the challenges we face. In it I quote an ancient Sanskrit poem:
Look to this day!
For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course
Lie all the truths and realities of existence:The joy of growth,
The splendor of action,
The glory of power.For yesterday is but a memory,
And tomorrow is only a vision;
But today, well lived, makes every yesterday
a memory of happiness,
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore, to this day!
That strikes me as a great spiritual practice to try to live by. I, for one, am giving it my best shot.
Jean, I just read that poem yesterday and I can’t figure out where I came across it but it’s nice to see it again. I have to remember to be in the hear and now. It’s a great way to start the day — Look well, therefore, to this day!
